We strongly recommend all our staff to join the Update Service with their current DBS certificate. This allows us to conduct regular update checks in accordance with our safeguarding policy.

In the event that individuals miss the initial timeframe to join the Update Service, we will ensure that a new DBS check is completed on the 12-month anniversary. At this point, we will request that the individual joins the Update Service to streamline future checks and ensure ongoing compliance with our safeguarding measures.

At GB Recruitment, we understand the vital role face-to-face interviews create, as they embody our commitment to a personal touch, which is fundamental to our ethos. Our thorough screening process begins with a telephone interview, followed by a face- to-face meeting with one of our experienced consultants.

During this in-person interview, our consultants diligently gather relevant information to ensure compliance with the requirements of Keeping Children Safe in Education and Safer Recruitment protocols. We believe that the face-to-face interaction creates an atmosphere where candidates feel welcome and at ease, enabling them to provide accurate responses when discussing their experiences, skills, and capabilities.

Should you require supply cover, we are just a phone call away. Our consultants are available in the office between 8:00 and 16:30. However, after this time, calls are diverted to them, ensuring continuity of service. You can still reach them on 01782 62444 to discuss your requirements, ensuring seamless communication and support.

No, your working schedule is entirely at your discretion and can change on a weekly basis. We understand that individual circumstances vary, and some may prefer long-term, full-time assignments, while others require flexibility to accommodate personal commitments.

Our schools ask that staff arrive no later than 8:30 AM and if you are working a full day be available to work until 3:30 PM. However, beyond this requirement, the number of days you choose to work is entirely up to you. We believe in offering a supportive service that respects the diverse needs of all our educators.

Yes, as part of our rigorous registration process, GB Recruitment requires two recent professional educational/employment references prior to extending any offers of employment. In line with Safer Recruitment guidelines, we do not accept open references or testimonials.

The reference details you provide must be rooted in educational or childcare positions of employment. In cases where such references are not available, we request the most pertinent professional employment references, sourced from a suitable line manager.

Furthermore, all candidates are required to provide a comprehensive and detailed career history on their application. This allows us to obtain the most current references and discuss any potential gaps in your employment history.

At GB Recruitment, we manage our own payroll and do not use any umbrella companies. You will be paid weekly upon submission of a timesheet, ensuring a hassle-free process for receiving your pay directly into your bank account each Friday. We value your expertise and professionalism, which is why we offer competitive rates of pay. It’s important to note that pay is subject to statutory deductions mandated by central government, but we do not subtract any additional fees.

Yes, an Enhanced DBS is a legal requirement to work with children in schools or nurseries. GB Recruitment will be able to process a new certificate with you as part of your registration process and will require you to place this on the update service.

Placing your certificate on the DBS Update Service, although costing you an annual fee of £13, will save you both time and money. You only have to pay for one DBS Disclosure – and you won’t have to wait for it to be renewed each year. Additionally, the Update Service might just give you a crucial edge when applying for new roles, as you will already have an up-to-date DBS Disclosure.

If you currently hold a DBS and it is registered with the update service, during your registration we will require you to bring in the original certificate in order for us to check it is clear or discuss any disclosures with you further.
