GB Recruitment is working in partnership with a number of local primary and secondary schools that are seeking experienced and motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) If you’re an experienced HLTA looking for your next challenge, we have a variety of opportunities available, ranging from short-term cover assignments to long-term positions with the potential for ongoing work.
About the Role
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school. We are looking for professionals who can confidently step into the classroom, work independently, and make a positive impact from day one.
Responsibilities may include:
- Delivering planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher
- Supporting pupils across a range of year groups and abilities
- Working with individuals and small groups to raise attainment
- Assisting with classroom management and behaviour support
- Supporting pupils with SEND and additional learning needs
- Collaborating closely with teaching staff to enhance learning outcomes
What We’re Looking For
- HLTA qualification or equivalent experience
- Previous experience working within UK schools
- Strong classroom management skills
- Confidence in leading learning activities and covering lessons
- A positive, adaptable and proactive approach
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
