GB Recruitment are proud to be working on behalf of a welcoming and well-established local nursery to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Deputy Nursery Manager for an immediate start on a permanent basis.
This is an exciting opportunity for a committed early years professional looking to step into a leadership role or build on existing senior experience. You will support the Nursery Manager in delivering high-quality care and education, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children can thrive.
Responsibilities
• Support the Nursery Manager with the day-to-day running of the setting
• Lead by example in delivering outstanding early years practice in line with EYFS
• Monitor and assess children’s development across all areas, sharing progress with parents and carers
• Plan and oversee engaging activities that support children’s learning and development
• Create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for all children
• Support, mentor, and guide staff to maintain high standards across the setting
• Encourage children’s independence through daily routines and self-care skills
• Maintain accurate records, including observations and learning journeys
• Ensure full compliance with safeguarding, health & safety, and welfare requirements
• Build strong, positive relationships with parents, carers, and colleagues
• Supervise children at all times, including during outdoor activities
Requirements
• Level 3 qualification in Childcare/Early Years Education (or equivalent)
• Previous experience in a nursery, preschool, or daycare setting
• Strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
• Experience in a senior role or readiness to progress into leadership
• Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
• A caring, patient, and proactive approach
• Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures
• Paediatric First Aid qualification (desirable but not essential)
• Experience supporting children with SEN (desirable but not essential)
• Familiarity with digital learning journals (desirable but not essential)
